AP Chemistry is a challenging higher level science course ran by CollegeBoard. The AP program enables students to pursue college-level studies while still in high school. AP provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to earn college credit. A cumulative exam is given at the end of each year, students scoring a 3 or higher on a 5 point scale can receive college courses.
This AP Chemistry course provides students with a foundation to support future advanced course work in chemistry. Through inquiry based learning, students develop critical thinking and reasoning skills. Students cultivate their understanding of chemistry and science practices as they explore topics such as: atomic structure, intermolecular forces and bonding, chemical reactions, kinetics, thermodynamics, and equilibrium.
Pre-requisite or Co requisite: Chemistry 1 and Algebra II with a C or higher.

Chemistry is a high level science course meant to challenge students.
This course provides opportunities for students to develop and communicate an understanding of structure, physical and chemical properties, and chemical change. Concepts covered in this course include properties of matter, measurement and use of the International System of Measurement applied to mathematical operations, atomic theory, bonding, periodicity, nomenclature, equations and reactions, stoichiometry of aqueous solutions, thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, oxidation-reduction and electron chemistry, nuclear chemistry, and organic chemistry. Laboratory activities, research, the use of technology, and the effective communication of results through various methods are integral components of this course.
Pre-requisite or Co requisite: Algebra 1. Students should have already taken or currently be taking Algebra 1 with a C or higher to be enrolled in Chemistry
